JACK BRUCE recovering from liver transplant

By Anonymous

Please find below a personal statement from the Bruce family concerning Sanctuary Records artist Jack Bruce.

"After Jack was diagnosed with liver cancer earlier this summer, we went through a very difficult period of uncertainty, not knowing whether it would be life threatening. Jack spent 3 weeks on and off in hospital for examinations. When we were told Jack could have a liver transplant, then we knew that there was real hope and we were overjoyed! In reality what it meant was waiting for a donor and then having the operation, which went very well. Unfortunately there was a rejection of the new liver, infection and then kidney failure. Anyhow Jack had his successful transplant on 19th September 2003 and after being very critical for a period in which we almost lost him, Jack is now making a successful recovery. The whole family is very relieved, that Jack will be with us for many years and obviously we are looking forward to more new songs, concerts and records to come! I am sure all the fans all over the world will feel the same as the Bruce Family.

"We hope you will enjoy and celebrate the new album 'More Jack Than God' which was released by Sanctuary Records worldwide almost on the day of Jack's transplant. The pictures in the album booklet could well have been the last pictures of Jack. He has proved us wrong, after all, he is a strong Scotsman!

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge for the dedication and expertise they have shown".
The Bruce Family

Needless to say, Sanctuary Records sends best wishes to Jack and his family and hopes for a speedy recovery.

Joe Cokell, CEO Sanctuary Records Group, says:
"Jack Bruce, apart from being one of the finest & talented artists in the Sanctuary family, has also shown through the past couple of months his inner strength and determination in fighting off this very serious illness. We look forward to his complete recovery and a full and active return to the musical world that he has been part of for more than 4 decades. Jack's new album 'More Jack Than God' released in September has received glowing reviews and it is testament to Jack's creative talent that he is producing work of such stature here and now."

Listen To Me Lad Says Jack

By John Taylor

Once upon a time, a very long time ago, when I was first starting out as an apprentice engineer, I was told to sit next to Jack.

Jack was the longest serving Draughtsman in the organisation and he was one of the most lazy people I have ever met. However, I earned something very important from Jack...

Jack gave me a small project to prepare a technical drawing of a simple part for a machine. I can't remember what the machine was but I made a mess of my first attempt and hurriedly tried to rub it out before anyone spotted my mistake.

"Listen to me lad" says Jack, "just you remember that you get paid just as much to rub out as you do to draw in the first place, so don't you be frightened to make a few mistakes."

What a relevation! I had just left school, where the philosophy was very much about getting all your answers right, it was about high marks and passing exams. And, now here I was being told that making mistakes was OK, it was acceptable to mess up from time to time.

During my entire business life I have never forgotten that lesson. I have learned far more from my mistakes than I ever could from my successes. Knowing that you have permission to get things wrong means that you can try alternatives you can test different approaches.

How else can we make progress, how else can we improve our skills, knowledge and experince?

What is it that sets the successful online entrepreneur apart from everyone else? The answer is really very simple, they keep testing new ideas, alternatives, different approaches.

The truly successful online entrepreneur is willing to take risks. But their risks are measured and the results are evaluated and they will embrace improvement then seek even more.

Just like every successful athlete, they record their performance, they seek ways of gaining another small advantage. But every small incremental improvement contributes to their record breaking performance.

What have you tried to improve today, this week, or even this month? Are you happy with your sales conversion rate? Are you signing up as many new subscribers as you would like? Is your Pay Per Click campaign achieving the highest level of click throughs?

Thanks to Jack, my technical drawing ability improved leaps and bounds because I wasn't limited by my fear of failure. Everyday I look for opportunities to test and tweak some part of my sales process to improve my profitability.

My next test on my http://www.test-and-track.com web site will be a price increase. My eBook is currently priced at only $34.97 and I am going to put the price up to see if my sales volume drops. I hope you are reading this in time to grab a bargain!

Power Alert, the Power Failure Alarm provides critical warnings to users during Power Blackout of August 2003.

By Anonymous

August, 2003 -- During the largest power system failure in history, over 50 million people were without power to their homes and businesses. People were unable to travel home from their workplaces, or to get to work for long periods of time. For many it was impossible to determine how long the power was out in their homes and businesses. Losses of perishable goods will run into the millions of dollars, and possible health risks of using improperly refrigerated foods has caused concern for many people and public heath officials.

Users of the Power Alert, Power Failure Alarm, were alerted when the power failed, and could see immediately, how long the power was out at their location. Additionally products plugged into the Power Alert were protected from power surges and spikes as the system was restarted.

The Power Alert is a Power Loss / Power Failure warning device that uses a loud (120 db.) alarm to alert users of power failure, an LED timer to record the length of the outage, and has an integrated surge suppressor to protect delicate electronic equipment against power spikes and surges.

Power Loss can occur on a large scale, such as the recent Power Blackout in the Northeast and Midwest or a small scale, down to a single device with a blown fuse, tripped circuit breaker, or faulted GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter).

Power loss can have many causes; it can be from mechanical failure, operator error, system overload, natural disasters, and even man-made disasters.

In today's electrically powered world with the thousands of critically important electrical products and devices, knowing if, when, and for how long the power is off is vital to personal and employee safety as well as the protection of property.

If you have a sump pump, freezer, refrigerator, cordless or electronic telephones, fax machine, security system, medical device, heating/cooling units, computer, home theatre, stereo system, recreational vehicle, boat, second home, or any of hundreds of critical electrical products you need a Power Alert.

Power Alert's 120 db alarm sounds for 20 minutes when the power fails, then once every 20 seconds for up to 7 days (depending on battery condition). The alarm has a manual reset button.

A large face LED Timer records the length of the outage. The timer is cumulative, so that if the power goes off and on several times, you get the total length of the outage. The timer has manual rest button on the front of the unit.

Power Alert has an integrated surge suppressor with resetable circuit breaker provides protection against power spikes and surges.

The unit also has a power on indicator, a power off indicator, and a built-in low battery warning alarm.
